Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains which data we collect when you visit staysaltysailing.com or contact us, why we do so and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Controller

2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by united-domains GmbH (IONOS group) on servers within the EU. When you visit the site, the server automatically stores technical information that your browser transmits (IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer, browser and operating system). This is necessary to deliver the website securely and to detect misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after a short period, usually within a few weeks. We have a data processing agreement with our hosting provider.
3. Charter inquiry form, email and phone
When you send us an inquiry via the form, by email or by phone, we process the data you provide (name, email, phone number, travel dates, number of guests, message) to answer your inquiry and to prepare a charter offer or contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Form submissions are sent to us by email. We keep inquiry data as long as needed to handle your request; if a charter contract follows, we keep the data required by Greek tax and commercial law (usually up to 10 years). Inquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted after 2 years at the latest.
4. WhatsApp
If you contact us via WhatsApp, the service of WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. (Meta) is used. WhatsApp processes your phone number and metadata under its own privacy policy; data may be transferred to the USA (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework). Using WhatsApp is optional – you can always reach us by email instead (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).
5. Guest review form
If you send us a review, we process your name, email, country, trip details, rating and text. We publish your review with your first name and country only if you have given your consent in the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Your email address is never published. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to booking@staysaltysailing.com; we will then remove your review.
6. Google Fonts
To display fonts consistently, this website loads fonts from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.). When a page is loaded, your browser connects to Google servers, which transmits your IP address to Google; a transfer to the USA cannot be excluded (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a uniform presentation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. Links to social media
Our website links to our profiles on Instagram and YouTube. These are simple links – no data is sent to these platforms until you click them. Once you visit a platform, its own privacy policy applies.
8. Cookies
This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Technically necessary cookies may be set only when logging into the website administration.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Consents can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your rights, simply email booking@staysaltysailing.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, Kifissias 1-3, 11523 Athens, Greece – www.dpa.gr.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
